Notice on the Adjustment to Chinese Visa Application(updated July 1st)

Based on the latest situation of COVID-19 prevention and control and to further facilitate essential cross-border flows, the adjusted policies for foreigners in Albania applying for Chinese visa has become effective from today as follows:

1. Visa categories and Documents for application

M-Visa 

& F-Visa

For commercial, trade, technology activities and exchanges  

Invitation letter issued by the inviting party in China.

Z-Visa

Intend to work in China

Valid Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit in the People’s Republic of China (or the original copy of Foreigner’s Work Permit etc.)

S1-Visa (residing)

For the spouse, parents, sons & daughters under 18 years old, parents-in-law of  Z-Visa holders or holders of Foreigner’s Residence Permit of the People’s Republic of China (for work purpose)   

(1) Original and photocopy of certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate, certification of kinship) showing the relationship of immediate family members between applicants and inviting individual.

(2) An invitation letter from the inviting individual (a foreigner who works in China).

(3) A photocopy of the inviting individual's passport and residence permit or work visa.

S2-Visa (visiting family members)

For the spouse, parents, sons & daughters under 18 years old, parents-in-law of Z / M / F visa holder's

(1) Original and photocopy of certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate, certification of kinship) showing the relationship of immediate family members between applicants and inviting individual.

(2) An Invitation letter signed by Z / M / F visa holder;

(3) A photocopy of the inviting individual's passport, work permit, Z visa, M visa or F visa.

*Except for aforementioned documents, a corresponding statement shall be provided if the adult sons & daughters and their spouse apply for S2-Visa. 

Q1-Visa (family reunion)

Q2-Visa (visiting family members)

(1) Family members of Chinese citizens;

(2) Family members of foreigners with Chinese permanent residence.

*"family members" refers to spouses, parents, parents-in-law, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, and granddaughters. 

(1) Original and photocopy of certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate,household register, certification of kinship issued by Public Security Bureau or notarized certification of kinship) showing the relationship of family members between applicant and inviting individual.

(2) An invitation letter issued by a Chinese citizen or a foreign citizen with a Chinese permanent residence permit who lives in China.

(3) Chinese ID of the inviting individual (Chinese ID card or household register) or the inviting individual’s passport and permanent residence permit of China.

C-Visa

For crew members

A letter of guarantee issued by a foreign transport company or an invitation letter issued by a relevant entity in China

Urgent Humanitarian Visa

For attending funeral or visiting relatives with critical disease  

The ID of the patient or the deceased (e.g. passports of foreigners), a death certificate or a certificate of diagnosis/critical illness notice issued by a hospital, proof of kinship, etc.  

Note:Visa applications for tourism, medical treatment and other private purposes are temporarily suspended.

2. Attention

2.1 Preparations before application

For online application and making appointment, please refer to Notice Regarding Online Visa Application and Appointment Process(http://al.china-embassy.gov.cn/eng/lsfw/fhqz/202008/t20200811_2532398.htm). Please also print the confirmation page & the application form and ensure the confirmation page and No.9 of the application form are signed. Applicants shall provide the following documents: confirmation page, application form, original passport with at least 6 month of remaining validity & blank visa pages and a photocopy of the information page, original expired passports within 5 years and the photocopy of the information pages, COVID-19 vaccination certificate, recent colored passport photo (size: 48mm×33mm) and aforementioned required documents.

2.2 Before entering China, applicants, in principle, shall be inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine approved by China or WHO for emergency use or market authorization. 2.3 Non-Albanian citizens shall provide certificates certifying legal stay, residence, work or study in Albania or the original and photocopy of valid Albanian visa.

This adjustment is a temporary measure, Chinese Embassy in Albania will timely update the changes, thank you for understanding and cooperation.
